Hello, I’m Trina.
I'm a science educator with over 20 years experience in Higher Education. My primary interests are human anatomy & physiology, ethnobotany, herbology, and how all of these can work together to help us achieve optimum health and wellness.
I am not a medical doctor. I do not diagnose & I do not prescribe. My focus is on education. I look at how plants are used in indigenous medicine, such as TCM, Ayurveda, and folk medicine, then examine the scientific literature to see how those traditional uses align with what we know from scientific research.
Information provided in ANY workshop is for general educational purposes only and is not intended as, nor should it be considered a substitute for, professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Plants are not inherently safe because they are natural. Many plants are toxic, and even herbs and spices that are GRAS when used as seasoning can be dangerous at higher levels. Many herbs can interfere with prescription medications, so it is imperative that you check any potential interactions prior to using herbal remedies. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of anything you learn here. Use of any information provided here is solely at your own risk.
I currently give workshops monthly in Madison GA, and every two months in Decatur, GA on the health & wellness aspects of kitchen herbs, so check back often if this would be a topic of interest to you.
I will be building a series on online workshops here in the near future.
